Worship . .
.
. . . what a
huge dynamic in the life of a church with a journey, a church that's
going somewhere, effecting the world around it.
Some concepts of worship that we
embrace in the culture of TrueNORTH Church.
- God speaks in the midst of the worship
- after all He's there, He says He will inhabit the "Praise" of
His people. (Psalm 22:3 KJV)
- He visits, He delivers and sets free
as we lift His name up in worship.
- His throne somehow appears in our
hearts and lives and re-establishes itself for another dynamic
week in Him.
- He reveals, not only Himself in our
corporate gathering, but often where He wants to take us
individually and corporately AND what He wants us to do in the
"God-scheme" of things. (Rev 4: 1-2 NKJV)
- The more people gather, the bigger it
all gets - that's probably why the Bible tells us to "not forsake
the gathering" - that is don't stay at home and think you can have
church in front of the TV. Hey it may be good - but nothing
beats worshipping together in His House. One can put a
thousand to flight . . . (Deut 32:30)
- As the people of God, known by His
name gather together (as a people) and worship - the landscape of
the city, the region, the nation will chan
 ge . . . for the better!
(Psalm 67: 5, 6 & 7)
- Sing "New Songs" - see what happens -
God's promises are huge. (Psalm 40:3)
- Sing songs that are stylistically
relevant to the culture we live in - see who comes!
- Avoid the "woah-is-me" worship tunes
that fortify a persons misery - head in the other direction and
look "up."
- Avoid putting "look-at-me" people on
the team / in the band - we're there to worship God. (1 Cor
1:29 - 1Chron 13:9 & 10)
- The sound guy is as much a musician as
the instrumentalists on stage.
- Look for the cloud of His Presence
that makes the people cry Glory (Psalm 29:9b) . . and
makes it hard to stand. (1 Sam. 6:20)
Worship
Worship is when I lift my
heart up to the Lord and surrender to Him as my God again, like I
have a hundred times before and will continue to do for the rest of
my life. Once this connection is made the most wonderful peace and
joy enter my heart and I am left with little to say except, “thank
you, I love you so much”. There are few things in life nearly as
rewarding as spending time loving and adoring Jesus Christ. Every
weakness, fault, and failure of our lives can be restored when
connected to the God of Regeneration. I love the naked feeling
of intimacy knowing that Jesus will always accept me, be there for
me, always look on me with pleasure and cheer me on. Worship is
looking up at the God of all Creation, seeing your best friend and
being blown away with emotion, totally in
love.

Bixby
The Worship at TrueNORTH works hard, even
in these early stages, to incorporate all the above mentioned
concepts of worship and more. Worship is currently handled and
lead by Peter Bixby (Worship Leader, Acoustic Guitarist, Songwriter)
and Pastor Glenn Feehan (Worship Leader, Acoustic/Electric
Guitarist, Songwriter) and Benje Feehan (Acoustic
Percussionist). As musicians join the church and are happy
with the TrueNORTH church culture, we'll add them to the team.
The goal, is not just contemporary worship, but the best place to
hear music in town AND you get to worship God and sense His
magnificent presence at the same time - can't get better!
The songs we sing are a blend of original
songs, written in a representation of the "journey" of True North as
a church and as a people, blended with songs that culturally are a
great fit for True North. We don't copy anyone, we are called
to pioneer in every way - this is most appropriate in the
environment of "Worship" 
As the church evolves CD albums will be
recorded in the church studio and released on our "Worship
Resources" page on this site - Pastor Glenn's albums are already
available there - with some sound bites for your listening
pleasure.
